Certificate of Origin, USA All finished products and semi-finished products (billets) sold by Steel Dynamics Roanoke Bar Division are produced at our plant in Roanoke, Virginia, United States of America. Steel Dynamics Roanoke Bar Division hereby certifies that all products supplied by our plant for use within the United States of America will be manufactured in our plant and will be made with domestic steel only. One of the most significant ways of doing that is by using high quality metal scrap as the major source of raw materials. The metal scrap is received at our facility and melted on-site into billets for use in our Rolling Mill or sold as a semi-finished product (billet). At least 98% of the composition of our steel is iron obtained from recycled scrap metal, with the remaining two percent being alloy additives (to meet customer grade requirements). Realizing that the total scrap composition changes on a daily basis, on average, 79% of the scrap used at this facility is post-consumer scrap while the remaining 19% is post-industrial.
